Open for Business

Posted: July 6, 2010 in Uncategorized

Grand View’s Technology Integration Specialist is back in the office and ready for business.  Want to work together to develop crazy cool lessons? Of course you do!

A Personal Note:

My brother and partner in goofiness!

My brother is doing well and is receiving medical treatment for his injuries. Thanks for all the prayers and positive energy you shared with Matt and our family.  The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan become a focal point in one’s life when a loved one is deployed. I’m constantly perplexed by the lack of public  interest in Operation Enduring Freedom(Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation New Dawn (Iraq.)  I’m currently brainstorming a cross-curricular project that involves  America’s current and ongoing conflicts as the focal points.  If you have comments, suggestions, or ideas for the project please share!

Thanks again for the support, and please remember that I really do enjoy designing lessons! I’m just that dorky!

I love, no LOVE, to brag on my kids so keep your eyes peeled for my #WeAct post.
Coming Soon…

#WeAct ; How YOU are improving education Talking to a friend of mine this morning, we were talking about moving forward in education.  Now when I say "moving forward" I truly believe that there are a lot of things happening RIGHT NOW that are amazing.  There are also things that can improve though.  As educators, I consider that part of this profession (and really any profession) is the continuous reflection and growth in what we are doing.  As society changes, we have to best prepare o … Read More

Get ’em blogging!
What are your thoughts?

To blog, or not to blog (in the classroom) To blog, or not to blog: that is the question.  The question of whether or not to use blogging (web log) as an educational instrument in the classroom is becoming a hot topic as teachers explore the possibilities that this tool can bring to learning.   Since their advent in 1997, blogs have found their way into mainstream media and culture an … Read More
